Grande fan des collages de Matisse, que j’ai eu l’occasion d’admirer ❤️. Les tiens sont très chouettes aussi 😍. Je m’y essaie également, en découpant des magazines. Je suis aussi adepte de scrapbooking ✂️📒

I love this so much! The collages look great.

I’ve just started to discover the joy of collage - I’ve just been using magazine cuttings but the resulting compositions are then inspiring new ideas for paintings 🎨 it is so therapeutic to just sit and cut things out 🥰

These are beautiful, Natasha! Isn't collage freeing? I had a massive creative block at the end of 2023 and it was collage that helped me overcome it...just painting random colours on paper and cutting it out. Getting so hands on with materials just reminded me what I love about making art.

Looking forward to seeing where this takes your work! X

p.s: I hope the therapy helps, I started with it last year for anxiety issues too and it's been life changing :)

Thanks Lee! I'm so glad you like them. I've been going through a bit of a difficult patch with my art recently, and this feels very fun and freeing, as you say. I'm excited to make my own coloured papers with gouache and watercolour! And thank you for what you've said about the therapy, this gives me hope. I'm so glad to hear that it's been life changing for you. x

Ah, Natasha. Hi! Collage is delightful! I often find tiny nail scissors to be really handy for cutting my shapes. Good luck with everything xx

Also golden gel medium for sticking and sealing, but a glue stick works too of course!

I’ve just become interested in collage and I’ve been making gelli prints to cut up and use in art journals, in a way it’ll be therapeutic for me as I’ll be making art for myself and just playing with paper glue and other supplies (going back to playing like a child again). I hope the therapy helps you, and the collages-cutting up old and making new out of the useable scraps seems to be a good artistic analogy for therapy. Xx

I think that's it - it reminds me of being a child! A low-pressure way of art making. xx

I absolutely love these! I have never tried collage, but this makes me want to try. I do hope you continue and can see how absorbing it must be. I hope all goes well with the therapist, it is a brave and positive first step.

Hello Natasha I just love your collage it’s perfect! You might be interested in a channel called Art with Em. She’s is a young lady who does amazing collages using painted printer paper. I can relate to your anxiety. I was diagnosed as autistic 4 years ago aged 57 and it explained a huge amount for me and enabled me to understand my triggers and manage my life better. I cope a lot better now because of it. I truly hope your therapy helps because anxiety can be crippling. Keep up the beautiful creative work Natasha.

Thanks for the recommendation, Jennie! You're the second person who has mentioned Art with Em to me (the other was on Instagram). I'm now following her channel, and it's full of great tips and techniques. Super inspiring!

Ps I use fine nail scissors and thin embroidery scissors, Pritt Stick (don't go for cheaper options), and pva glue mixed with water to seal. X

That's a great tip about the scissors! For glue, I'm using an archival PVA glue by Lineco. :)

I love that you are enjoying collage. Collage is my main love. I paint my own background papers, scour magazines for things I can cut out. Have lots of files, each filled with a different colour of snips ready to use. Snipping and gluing is so satisfying. I make all my own greetings cards with collage, each tailored to the person I'm giving it to and have created several canvases including other media like neo II and coloured pencils. See Tracey English and Clover Robin on insta for inspiration. Using your unwanted artwork for collage is a brilliant idea Natasha. I love the pages you have created.

I eally hope you find therapy helpful with your anxiety ❤️
